Bernie Sanders attacks Trump nominee for following teachings of Christ

By Todd Starnes  Published June 09, 2017 Fox News First they came for the wedding planners and the bakers. Then they came for the Catholic farmers and the Baptist high school valedictorians. And now, the secularists are coming after the evangelical public servants. On Wednesday, Russell Vought, President Trump’s nominee to be deputy director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, was viciously attacked by Sen. Bernie Sanders over his Christian faith. Click here for a free subscription to Todd’s newsletter: a must-read for Conservatives! Sen. Sanders deemed Vought unsuitable for office because he believes that salvation is found alone through Jesus Christ. He said someone with that kind of a religious belief system is “really not someone who this country is supposed to be about.” Sen. James Lankford warned that Sander’s comments “dangerously close to crossing a clear constitutional line for how we evaluate qualifications for public service.” “The First Amendment is crystal clear that the federal government must protect every American’s right to the peaceful and free exercise of religion,” the Oklahoma Republican said. “We cannot say we have the free exercise of religion and also require people to practice their faith only in a way that government officials prefer.” The Vermont senator’s comments brought strong condemnation from Christians across the nation – including Family Research Council President Tony Perkins. “Senator Sanders is taking the Obama era’s religious hostility and putting it on steroids,” Perkins said. Thousands have signed a Family Research Council petition demanding Sanders apologize for his outburst of religious bigotry. Robert Jeffress, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas (and a Fox...
Think About It

Think About It

While browsing the internet the other day looking for a perfect picture for my last article, I came across an interesting statistic. 82% of all statistics are made up.   Wow! Who would have thought it?   Well, me actually.  Especially since I made it up!  Which leads me to some interesting thoughts on what other facts are fake and a product of someone else’s imagination. We hear things all of the time that we just assume are correct because it seems to come from a reputable source. Unfortunately “fake news” has been making its rounds much longer than most people are aware of.  Critical thinking is a skill that seems to be lacking in the younger generation and they believe anything that they read or hear.   I’m not sure of the cause, but have some ideas. I notice a big difference in kids’ problem-solving skills that play outside vs those who play inside on electronics.   Farm kids are great problem solvers.  They have to be able to out think a 1200 pound cow that does not want to go where they are trying to put it!  It is the best lesson in the world when they have to chase it all over 100 acres because they did not anticipate the cow turning and were not where they should have been.  They learn to think, and they learn it quick!  To NOT think results in extra work. Our young generation is proud of their ability to multi-task, but it is not a good behavior to practice.  It is a well-known scientific fact that the brain is able...
Deep Swamp Diving with James Comey: The 5 Biggest Takeaways from his Testimony

Deep Swamp Diving with James Comey: The 5 Biggest Takeaways from his Testimony

The average American is fed up! They don’t care one iota about this absurd Russia story! They care about jobs, security, and the fact that Obamacare is collapsing under its own weight. They care that the man they elected to drain the Washington Swamp, improve the economy, and keep us safe, is being upended from doing his job because of a fairytale that has not been supported by one shred of evidence! Is it any wonder why the people elected a gruff-talking, non-political businessman from Queens? While Washington DC closed down to watch this week’s political theater on Thursday, the average American was still hurting and begging for the Congress to get to work! The Comey Show was entertaining and revealing; here are the five biggest takeaways from James Comey’s testimony: COMEY DETESTS TRUMP: It was painfully obvious that Comey will not be sharing any “Best Friends” bracelets with the President anytime soon.   KABOOM! Comey busted the Mainstream Media’s assault on President Trump being investigated by the FBI or colluding with Russia. He also said there was a lot of fake news reports; I guess those were the ones he didn’t leak. LEAKY COMEY: Comey admitted to leaking the contents of the infamous “Trump Memo” to the press. He claimed he became unsettled after the President posted a Tweet alluding to “tapes” of their private conversation. Comey was so unsettled that he didn’t send the memos to the Congressional Oversight Committee; he had them leaked through a friend to the New York Times. Since when does a subordinate choose which Oval Office conversations are subject to Executive Privilege? SPECIAL PROSECUTOR:...

Pokemon Go celebrates its anniversary with a new event and a huge update

By Jacob Siegal BGR Niantic on Thursday confirmed the rumors of a Solstice Event to begin on Tuesday, June 13th. As expected, Fire-type and Ice-type Pokemon will spawn more often during the event, while trainers will be able to XP bonuses for in-game actions and Lucky Eggs will be discounted in the shop. But that’s not all that Niantic has planned for its one-year anniversary. Not even close. Shortly after the Solstice Event begins, Niantic plans to release “a new update focused on collaborative group gameplay features that will get you playing Pokmon GO in fun new ways.” In order to prepare for the update, the developer will disable Gyms in-game for a short period of time. Niantic didn’t share any more details about the update, but this certainly sounds like the long-awaited Gym overhaul that has been rumored for the past several months. In interviews, Niantic executives have repeatedly discussed three major updates coming to Pokemon Go this summer: cooperative gameplay experiences, Legendary Pokemon and something relating to the teams. While we’re anxiously awaiting more news about the update, Niantic is hosting its first real-world Pokemon Go event in Chicago on July 22nd. Pokemon GO Fest will take place at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, where trainers will be able to meet up and participate in a variety of activities. Tickets will be available from PokemonGoLive.com/Fest starting on July 19th at 10:00AM PT. Niantic also plans to hold more events in Europe from June through September, making Pokemon Go Fest international....
