Born and raised in suburban Detroit until enlisting in the U.S. Army at age 18. An instructor told me to sit down and type and don’t stop until we tell you to. That was my Army Life for 3 years. But I had your backs don’t worry. I’m your basic jack-of-all trades but master of none. I’ve bounced around a few places always with love of sports (except NASCAR or MMA leave those for others). Writing, talking, participating. I’ve done them all, my entire life. I’ve written about high school, college and pro sports. Feature stories and some news. Stops at the Louisville Courier Journal, The Orlando Sentinel and The Lansing State Journal to name a few. Mixed in sports talk radio in Nevada along the way. Some other things I have crossed off the bucket list for a paycheck include driving a taxi in two big cities, shucking oysters (in my early 20’s) around Central Florida, tending bar, wagering on sports and playing poker in Las Vegas. Now I help very sick people with the do’s and do not’s of how to use oxygen through their nose, their tracheotomy, or a ventilator. The treadmill is my friend most mornings allowing me to do marathon sports watching sessions with plenty of chicken wings, steaks and a cold beverage nearby. It started real young at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. Many nights at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati when it was the Big Red Machine with Hall of Fame guys like Tony Perez, Tom Seaver, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench and a certain other great baseball player we could all debate for hours if he belongs in the shrine. I say Pete Rose doesn’t belong but that’s for another time. In recent years I’ve grown a passion for The Beautiful Game, particularly the top leagues in Europe. I never played soccer but I truly appreciate the awesome skill and grace those athletes bring to the pitch. It’s second only to baseball in the home of my awesome girlfriend and RN Jaclyn. Our first date was a baseball game at Comerica Park and wouldn’t you know it a few short years later Jac was buying season tickets for the Tigers. She makes me go with her as much as I fight it. I will give you opinions on most sports topics. A lot of the time I’m right and I won’t back down if someone wants to trade opinions. It’s the beauty of being a sports junkie. In the car it’s sports talk radio only if the hosts are solid. I’ll decide that. Otherwise, anything E Street Radio. Hiding on the Backstreets to Badlands to My Hometown. I do Bruce and the E Street Band at least an hour a day. Never ever gets old.

On The Brink Of A Special Fall Classic

As a lifelong baseball fan, Thursday felt like a great time to reflect back as another birthday came and went- reliving many memories of unforgettable moments in our national pastime both in attendance and on TV. One thing I have never witnessed will hopefully come to...

Here’s Hoping A Certain NFL QB Has A Successful Sunday

What if you heard about an NFL quarterback starting Sunday in Buffalo against the Bills and all you knew of him was he formerly was a 4.0 student at John H. Pittman High School in Turlock, California and became an all-stater in not only football but basketball and...

Giants Still Kicking, Nats Look To Clinch

When the ball flew off Chicago Cubs slugger Kris Bryant’s bat in the top of the ninth inning of Monday’s heart-stopping 6-5, 13-inning loss to the Giants at AT&T Park, he wasn’t sure if Gregor Blanco was going to catch it or not. The ball wound up glancing off the...
